What's behind this
Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee said his Kolkata residence was attacked by ‘BJP hooligans’ in the early hours of Saturday, describing it as the seventh attempt on his life in six months and part of a conspiracy to kill him. He posted on X that the assailants had previously surveyed his office and home. The incident sparked late‑night clashes between TMC and BJP supporters outside his Kalighat house, with police resorting to a baton charge. The BJP denied involvement, and West Bengal minister Dilip Ghosh rejected the allegation. The attack followed Banerjee’s recent fiery remarks on the Supreme Court and Election Commission.
