What's behind this
A loud crash echoed through the crowded Chawri Bazar neighbourhood in Old Delhi on Thursday morning, prompting residents who were at home or preparing for work to rush outside and see a three‑storey building under construction collapse, trapping workers. According to an initial probe, the building’s owner, identified as Samiullah, had been warned six months earlier and ignored the warning, carrying out fresh construction on the second and third floors without prior approval and in violation of an advisory issued in April.
