Do you scrape articles?
No. A page shows the headline and the short excerpt the outlet put in its own RSS feed, with their name and a link to the original. The rest of the article stays on their site.
Is “what each side is saying” written by an AI?
No. It is one outlet's own excerpt, plus how many outlets on that side covered the event. A separate overview, when it appears, is marked as generated and sits apart from those excerpts.
Who picks the bias label?
Varta does. It is a label for the outlet, not a vote. What the words mean is on the methodology page. There is no reader score on the label yet.
Why are two different events in one story?
Grouping is a judgement and it misses. Send a note with the page address and what the two events are. That note is read by a person.
Where do saved stories live?
Until you sign in, they stay in this browser. After you sign in, the ones in the browser are copied to the account so the phone and the site share them. Removing one on either side removes it from the account.
Do I need an account?
No. Reading, search, and local saves work without one. An account is for keeping saves across devices. Sign-in is Google. There is no password on Varta.
Are there ads?
No. The site and the app do not serve ads.
