Sweeping victory for Jana Sena, TDP in Godavari districts

What's behind this

The Jana Sena Party and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) recorded a sweeping victory in the Godavari districts, as reported by The Hindu. This result aligns with the broader performance of the NDA alliance—comprising the TDP, Jana Sena and the BJP— which has won or is leading in about 90% of the municipalities, municipal corporations and nagar panchayats that voted on November 1, leaving the YSRCP with very few wins. Earlier, Jana Sena also secured an emphatic win in Pithapuram Municipality and the TDP alliance swept all 12 urban local bodies in three Rayalaseema districts.
