Center-Left Owned by Kasturi & Sons Ltd.Sharmila hails Congress performance in Chirala civic polls
What's behind this
Sharmila praised the Congress’s performance in the recent Chirala civic polls, where the party captured 10 of the 44 councillor seats, and the APCC chief urged the newly elected members to function as an effective opposition. In the same election cycle, Congress also won the Vadlapudi MPTC seat in Nellore district, a victory described as ending a long gap and part of its effort to rebuild its political presence in Andhra Pradesh after the state’s bifurcation in 2014. Earlier related coverage noted talks between the Left Front and Congress in Tripura about a possible alliance for urban local body polls.
